CIFAL-Bilbao implements, along with UNITAR, the international project for capacity development and training for the Local Authorities of the world in the area of the Information Society. The National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) is a national association that represents the communications needs and interests of local governments, and those who advise local governments. Our membership is predominately composed of local government agencies, local government staff and public officials, as well as consultants, attorneys, and engineers who consult local governments on their telecommunciations needs. Our government members have responsibilities that range from cable administration, telecommunications franchising, rights-of-way management and governmental access programming to information technologies and INET planning and management. We have members from not-for-profit organizations whose needs and interests are complementary to those of NATOA's members and we have members who are vendors to local governments, and telecommunications providers of all types of services to and for local governments. |
Nomad is a centre of excellence for mobile and flexible working in local government. The WiMAX Forum is working to facilitate the deployment of broadband wireless networks based on the IEEE 802.16 standard by helping to ensure the compatibility and inter-operability of broadband wireless access equipment. The organization is a nonprofit association formed in 2003 by equipment and component suppliers to promote the adoption of IEEE 802.16 compliant equipment by operators of broadband wireless access systems.

WITC is a public sector non-profit founded with the purpose to improve cooperation, operations and delivery of services at all levels of government by promoting increased knowledge, improved management methods and more efficient use of information resources, services and technologies. WITC is a member of the Denver Federal Executive Board and the American Council for Technology. Our affiliation with these organizations and the Western Governors Association allows us to provide IT professionals throughout the 21 Western states Canada and Mexico with relevant and interesting programs and events. Our annual feature event is the Western CIO Forum which brings together State and Federal CIOs and IT professionals with responsibilities in the west to discuss topics of mutual interest.
